Introduction

Purpose of Object Sorting machine

How it works
Where can it be installed
Project Goals

Optimizing product line that able to decide

the color.
Move the product to the right direction.
Design

The design consists of following structures:

Base of the conveyor Conveyor belt with base structure

Design

Color imagine sensor results:

Working

Object passes on conveyor belt and is being detected by a

sensor
Sensor detects color ( red for KITKAT blue for Snickers)
Color sensor sends signal to PLC
PLC acts according to the action plan
For red kit Kat solenoid remain inactive
For blue snickers the solenoid energizes and it pushes the bar
Calculations

Determination of the speed of conveyer belt:

Length of belt= 30 inches

Motor rpm = 218 rotations per minute = 218/60 = 3.63 rotations per sec
Time needed to cover the distance of conveyor belt for complete path = 8.30 sec
For 3.63 rotations /second, the total distance covered = 4.28 inches
Time taken by bar to reach solenoid valve = 4.30 sec
The weight for each box:
Calculations

Average Velocity for the conveyor:

D= 30 inches = 30/12 = 2.5 f

Average Speed=
Power Calculations:
To run conveyor belt motor we need two
amperes of current and 230 V and PLC input voltages ranges from 4-23
mA and 24 v standard DC voltage
Project Schedule

Project is scheduled as follow:

Project Schedule

The project is sub divided into 4 separate tasks which will be

performed one after another :

1st Circuit design

2nd PLC coding and testing
3rd Mechanical design of conveyer belt
4th Complete testing
