with no possible means of survival,
the city whose people had provided
them with handouts was under
siege so for the lepers, it was time
for an honest evaluation of the
situation at hand.
2 KINGS 7:3-4 Now there were four
men with leprosy at the entrance of
the city gate. They said to each
other, Why are we sitting here
until we die? If we say, We will
enter the city, the famine is in the
city, and we shall die there. And if
we sit here, we die also. Now

Most of not all of us are victims of
various:
- Cultural handicaps,
-Ethnic stereotypes,
-Financial constraints,
-Mental limitations
-Painful experiences
-Spiritual Manipulation
-Ignorance
and a whole bunch of factors that
become the foundation of our
legitimate excuses.

These factors make the mandate of

God overwhelming, and improbable
crippling us with fear that make it
seem hopeless to engage the
assignment of God for my life.
We feel safe striving for something
comfortable that is probably not in
line with the call of God. It was not
as challenging, and demanding.
We end up not functioning at our
optimum because we engage our
potentials in the wrong assignment.

This was the scenario of Gideon

called to be a deliverer of Israel
In the time when he was needed he
was threshing wheat at the
winepress.
Israel was under the bondage of the
Midianites and their had terrorized
Gideon until he was threshing
wheat at the wine press.
-Wheat shoulde be threshed above
ground
-Wine should be pressed below
 Gideon

The terror of the Midianite has

displaced Gideon to thresh wheat
at the winepress.
The wheat was supposed to be
threshed at the threshing floor but
to hide from the Midianites he had
to thresh at the winepress. Gideon
was abusing the purpose of the
winepress.
The Deliverer of God was
succumbed to fear living below his
ordained privileges, confused about
 Gideon

Until we have awakened to our

divine destiny, we will not realize
our privileged status in God.
Our potential only functions in its
optimum in the parameter of our
call. We will access our divine
blessings when we embrace our
divine callings.
Therefore there must be a paradigm
shift from where we are to where
God has ordained for us.
Our greatness resides in the zone of
 Gideon

Your divine identity is not defined

by the reality of your circumstances
God sparked a revolution in the life
of Gideon when He sent an Angel to
call Gideon a mighty man of valor at
the place of his mediocrity.
To himself he was a terrified farmer
who had not won any battle but God
called him what he really was, a
mighty man of valor.
His divine identity had no
connection to his circumstances.
 Gideon

Therefore he was made aware of

where he was supposed to be not
where he was.
He was not called to be a farmer
but a mighty man of valor.
There was nothing about his
present situation that even
remotely suggested that he was
what God called him.
Therefore, Gideon felt he had to
refuse a description that was not
his reality.
 Gideon

He could not procrastinate waiting

for the right time, amassing the
needed resources, depending on
the right people but he was to
respond to the call immediately.
He complained about his
deficiencies but he was urged to
respond anyway.
Judges 6:14 The Lord turned to him
and said, Go in the strength you
have and save Israel out of Midians
hand. Am I not sending you?
