Caractersticas
Antignicamente pertenece al grupo Simbu
El virus presenta hemaglutinacin activa en eritrocitos de gansos.
Se reproduce en numerosos cultivos celulares y causa efecto citoptico
Su manipulacin se restringe a laboratorios de nivel 3 (Saed et al., 2001)

Parauapebas and Porto de Moz
RTPCR
Viral RNA was extracted from Vero cells
infected with human samples, and S RNA was
amplified
Virus isolation
Two OROV strains were isolated from patients in Parauapebas (Brazil 2003a
and Brazil 2003b), and 2 strains were isolated from patients in Porto de Moz
(Brazil 2004a and Brazil 2004b).
The Study
Screened for malarial, for flaviviruses and
alphaviruses.
The sample also was isolated in Vero cells, and the RT-
PCR was used for confirmation.
