Borovets is an International ski resort, located at the foot of

Mousala Peak in Rila Mountain. Borovets is huddled in


venerable coniferous forests which have given its initial
name Chamkoria. The altitude varies from 1230m to 1390m

known as the Kazanlak Tomb. This Tomb is one of the most significant
monuments of the Thracian culture in the Bulgarian lands, included in the list of
the global cultural inheritance of UNESCO in 1979.
The ritual complex dates back Vc.BC and is used also as necropolis. The temple is architecturally unique
and is one of the most representative works of the Thracian architecture. This is the only Thracian temple
with columns into both: the porch and the camera.

This is the first tomb in the history of Thracian Studies, known to be dedicated to a particular person -
famous military commander, politician and statesman Seuthes III, who tried to unite the Thracian tribes in
Odrysian state in the end of the IV century BC and to oppose Philip II and Alexander Macedonian.The
mound is piled up as a sacred hill in the first half of the 5th century BC.
