concept such as set designs

focusing on visual
merchandising and
advertising.
There was no showroom in the
original plan of the establishment,
due to more customized orders
from clients. The space allocated
for the showroom will be the
whole 2nd floor. To attract more
clienteles, a showroom is needed
to showcase the sample creations
of the designer. The application of
visual merchandising techniques
and advertising tips are also
necessary. This will also serve as
reference for the clients preferred
dress. The space will be designed
with seats like on a theater-type
setup for an occasional fashion
show or related events. Problems
in the 2nd floor mostly tackle the
irregular-shaped layout, dull color
schemes, ineffective lighting
(some to bright, some too dim)
and the lack of air conditioning.
The study is focused on applying

The original fitting area in
the building was placed
beside the receiving area in
the ground floor with
standard sizes. The area will
be converted to a reception
area, and the fitting area will
be transferred to the third
floor. The second floor is
originally the working area
of the staff, there are sewing
tables, sewing materials
storage and cutting spaces
for fabric. The space will be
converted into three fitting
areas that could
accommodate at least 10
people, 13 at most. An alter
discussion area is also
provided for conversing with
the alteration manager. The
area is irregularly shaped and
has very little space. The
space also contains
ineffective lighting, easily
fractured furnishings due to
termites, and dull wall paints.
The study will focus on

Originally situated at the
ground floor, the
researcher transferred the
designers office to the
fourth floor to give way to
the reception area. The
fourth floor originally
contained living quarters
for staff. Half the floor will
be converted to a
designers office. The area
will be a private office and
will entertain the client and
her entourage if a custom-
made gown is preferred for
discussion. Considering
the clearances needed for
each workstation and table,
it will be a challenge to
design the layout for the
office. The area will focus
more on inspiring, relaxing
and giving excitement for
the clienteles by placing
beautiful wedding portraits
and wedding gowns in the
area. The space is
irregularly shaped with
very minimal lighting and
ventilation/air
conditioning. It is also
designed with dull colors
in the walls, requiring
change while considering
the balance of the lightness
and darkness of colors.
