MORALE AND WELFARE UPDATES

Objective

The objective of this lecture is to provide the latest updates on


MOWEL policies, programs and benefits to uplift the morale and welfare of
the Filipino soldiers.

Functions of the Morale and Welfare Division, OJ1


The Morale and Welfare Division (MWD) assists the Deputy Chief of
Staff for Personnel, J1 in formulating Policies, Planning, Directing,
Coordinating, and Supervising matters pertaining to morale, welfare
and personnel services of the AFP.

The Morale and Welfare Division (MWD) assists the Deputy Chief of
Staff for Personnel, J1 in the formulation of Plans and Policies related to
professional health services, burials, graves, registrations and hospital
care, and the delivery of morale and welfare of the AFP owned/controlled
corporations and other projects intended for the benefit of the AFP

Letter Directive Nr. 31: Uniform Disposition on the Requirements in the


Processing of Claims for Special Financial Assistance (SFA) for Military
Personnel who are KIA and WIA
Salient Points:
PRRD instruction that all benefits from the PSFA due to WIA and KIA should be
provided the soonest possible time.
Major Services, UCs and AFPWSSUs to submit directly to Office of the President
(OP) within 24 hours after an incident.
Requirements:
Certificate of Death or the wounding of the Soldier (signed by Div Commander or equivalent)
Name of legal beneficiary and photocopy of valid ID of the legal beneficiary; and
Spot Report

Letter Directive Nr. 23: Distribution and Management of Financial


Assistance Donated by the Private Sector
Salient Points:
Applicable to all bereaved LEGAL certified beneficiaries/family of personnel
(Military and CAFGU) who were KIA in the Marawi Crisis and other concurrent
operations and future combat operations starting 23 May 2017.
Beneficiaries/Family shall receive PhP 35,000.00
Requirements:
Spot Report or Death Certificate (duplicate or photocopy);
Certificate of Legal Beneficiary; and
Bank Account number of Beneficiary (Landbank)
