Visual aids are essential to helping your audience
better understand the key points of your
presentation.

What is
Visual
Design?
Visual design focuses on the aesthetics of a site
and its related materials by strategically
implementing images, colors, fonts, and other
elements.

A successful visual design does not take away from

the content on the page or function. Instead, it
enhances it by engaging users and helping to build
trust and interest in the brand.
What are the
things to
consider in
Visual Design?
Element Pattern

Arrangement
Element Pattern

Arrangement
Elements- Selecting the verbal/visual element
to be incorporated into display.
Pattern- choosing an underlying pattern for
the elements of display.
Arrangement- Arranging the individual
element within the underlying pattern.
Element
Visual Design Element
Realistic- Show the actual object to study. The more
realistic, the more close to the original.
Visual Design Element
Analogic- convey topic by showing something else and
implying similarity. (e.g. Human memory and computer
memory).
Visual Design Element
Organizational- such as flowcharts, graphs, maps
classification charts.
Verbal Element
Letter Style- It should be consistent and harmonize with
other visual elements. Straight forward and plain style.
Verbal Element
Number of Lettering Styles- not more than 2 different

Verbal Element
Space between letters- Consider Optical Spacing.
Estimating approximately equal amounts of with space
between letters.
Verbal Element
Spacing between lines- Letters should not be too

Adds Appeal
Surprise- Think unusual metaphor, a dramatic change of
size.
Adds Appeal
Texture- Use 3 dimensional visuals (if possible). It can
convey clearer idea.
Adds Appeal
Interaction- R of the ASSURE MODEL. Ask learners to
respond visual displays by manipulating materials on the
display.
Pattern
Alignment
Balanced Alignment.
Same Imaginary horizontal and vertical line.
Viewer expends little effort making sense out of what
they are seeing.
Balance
The weight of the elements in a display is equally
distributed whether horizontally or vertically.
Shape
Put and arrange visual into shape that familiar to
learner.
