*** 64 bit Excel - SAP Remote function call (RFC) functions do not natively support 64 bit MS Office
products. In order to enable the Add-In for 64 bit Excel it is necessary to make manual changes to the
Windows registries on the local computer. These registry changes only affect how 64 bit Office products
will utilize the 32 bit RFC functions. See the Word document Registry change for 64 bit Excel.
Setup Logon Sheet
The Logon sheet allows for up to 6 APO servers to be entered. This is useful
when working with multiple APO test systems.
Enter the server and login information 1 time in the Logon sheet and then
save the Excel file to use as a default download file.
To download from a different APO server enter the Server Option number
in the Server Selected cell.

1. Click GetLogon button to create Logon sheet

Get Optimization Runs
All of the SNP optimization runs on the selected APO server will be
displayed in the OptRuns worksheet.
Get Optimization Runs
The list in the OptRuns worksheet is the same as in the SNP Optimization
Runs table in the APO system and includes all of the associated
optimization run data.
Select Optimiztion Run using Session ID
To download the log tables for an optimization run select the Session ID.

The Session ID is the internal code that identifies the optimization run.
Session IDs in Red are optimization runs that errored.

Log Tables with Selection Options
Tables with Selection Options. These are tables that typically have very large datasets
because they include Bucket information.

To reduce the download time and data quantity it is possible to filter the data using
any combination of Product, Location, and Bucket From Bucket To. (although it is not
required to use the selections it is recommended for data sets over 50,000 rows)

For selection of multiple Product or Location the CTRL (individual selection) or SHIFT
(multi selection) keys can be used.

1. Select Table

2. Selection options
General Log Table Information
Text descriptions have been added to tables that contain product, location, resource, etc.

Each log table has hidden columns where the internal master data id mapping is contained.
General Log Table Information
Additional information not included in the APO SNP optimizer log tables has been included for
some tables to improve usability. Below are 2 examples.

ET_SETUPMATRIX : Setup Group Predecessor and Successor

IT_PROMO : Location, product, and resource

Example file with Input and Results log tables
This excel file contains examples of a majority of the optimizer log tables.

Not 100% of the tables are included because the data was not available in the APO
system used for development of the Add In.
Performance Considerations
Download performance will be dependent on the following factors:

Data volume of individual tables

Use selection options for tables with large data volumes

RFC connection speed with APO server (network performance)

Local computer processing capability

After the download of the raw data there are mappings and transformations
performed in Excel Visual Basic that are done by the local computer.

Excel 32 or 64 bit
32 bit Excel has a memory limitation in the download process that can cause errors for
tables exceeding 100,000 rows. If there is an error in the download then use the table
selection options to limit the data or upgrade to 64 bit Excel.

64 bit Excel does not have any memory limitations.

64 bit Excel - SAP Remote function call (RFC) functions do not natively support 64 bit
MS Office products. In order to enable the Add-In for 64 bit Excel it is necessary to
make manual changes to the Windows registries on the local computer. These
registry changes only affect how 64 bit Office products will utilize the 32 bit RFC
functions. See the Word document Registry change for 64 bit Excel.
