Discussion Conclusion

The advantage of aggregate impact test is that test equipment and As a conclusion, we have determine the
the test procedure are quite simple and it determines the resistance to aggregates impact value of aggregate by
impact of stones simulating field condition. The test can be performed conducting this laboratory experiment or the

As the data obtained from this test, we have determined the

aggregate impact value of the specimen. If the AIV is less than 10%,
the aggregates are exceptionally strong, but if AIV is in range 10%
until 30% the aggregates have good strength resistance. However,
the aggregates impact value of the specimen for this laboratory
experiment is 32.7%, 31.5%, 33.4% and 31.3%. We repeated all the
procedures for 3 more times to obtain precise average value of
aggregates impact value which is 32.2%. As a result, the specimen
are considered satisfactory because the aggregates impact value is
more than 30%. Compare with the other laboratory groups, their
specimens are considered good. The difference of results between
each groups is caused by the errors occurred during conducting this
laboratory experiment.

The size of aggregates that were used in laboratory experiment

affected the data result, so it explain why the result between each
groups is different. Next, the specimen was not dried completely in the
oven. Thus, the data obtained were not accurate and not appropriate
to be calculated in this laboratory experiment. To overcome all of
these errors, the aggregates should be sieving before conducting this
experiment to obtain the size of aggregates that we need. Then, the
aggregates should be dried enough before crushing it or use it in this
laboratory experiment.
