AUDIENCE RESEARCH

BECKY UNG
QUESTIONNAIRE
I have decided to conduct a questionnaire that
contains a range of qualitative and quantitative
questions. The quantitative questions are used to
draw in general results such as age and gender. This
will provide the basis for my primary research. The
majority of my questionnaire is quantitative questions.
Although this method is more time-consuming, I feel
like the documentary I am doing requires as much
detail as possible from the audience. This also
provides solid evidence for the question within my
documentary which is should emojis be used as a
language

DO YOU THINK EMOJIS CAN
BE USED AS A LANGUAGE?
NO = 14

You cant explain fully what you want to say to the other person and they may not understand you

You still need to use words to talk over text

Too simple and dumb

You cant form sentences with them

Not all emojis have my emotions

Its weird

It is not interchangeable with language as meaning is restricted

Doesnt portray what youre trying to say

Too generalised, too many meaning/ connotations

But they can co-exist

There would need to be an emoji for every single word which would be impossible
YES = 8

Can be used for people who find it difficult to speak (mute or autistic
people)

They are fun

Simple to use

Emotions can be portrayed through them

In modern society it has become part of everyday speech

It indicates an emotion in a message

Everyone knows what each emoji means and a series of different

emojis can tell you the emotions someone has said.

People understand what you mean
