 WOW! What a year!
Fenix Family Health Center is now seven (!) years old, and we have
entered a new stage: not a start up, but a successful, established
family practice clinic. We are so proud of all that we have
accomplishedproviding high quality, deeply respectful, primary
care for 6,000+ medically underserved community members in the
Spanish language. Were educating and empowering patients while
also saving money in the community.
New faces at Fenix Large VNA grant
Brandon Berkley-Vigil, PA joined Fenix after finishing training at In 2015, Jennifer Poliwka, MSN/MPH-RN, became Fenixs

upcoming remodel. We are excited to expand our gem of a clinic and we look forward to continue working with Ms. Jones
as our dream becomes a reality!
Fenix in the vanguard of primary healthcare
Marie Fuentes-Harris, LCSW, provides mental health care to patients who would normally be unable
to afford treatment. Just $15 for 45 minutes, our bilingual counselor is critical to fulfilling our vision
of comprehensive care. Thanks to the extraordinary vision of Dr. Berner and the excellent care of
our provider Marie, we are in the vanguard of integrating mental health and primary care. We are
excited to continue expanding the bilingual mental health services at Fenix!
Georgia Glastris, our bilingual promotoraand daughter of our first board member provides health
education to our patients. From offering healthier alternatives to local food favorites, to informing
diabetic patients about lifestyle changes to improve their health, her services (at a mere $3 a visit!)
make a significant difference in the lives of our patients. Georgia, a pre-med at NU, is an absolute
delight to our patients and a joy to work with.
