Charlemagne is arguably
one of the most important
figures of Early Medieval
Europe.

He sought to unite all


Germanic peoples,
converted those in his
empire to Christianity,
ruled the Franks, and
founded the Carolingian
Empire.
How Charlemagne Came to Power
