RESEARCH ISSUE AND THE NEED FOR

IMPROVEMENT
The result of preliminary investigation has shown that the pupils were
having problem to understand the preposition of place.
This was due to the fact that English teacher has adopted the
Grammar Translation Method (GTM) to teach the grammar item.
However, it is a must for pupils to master the preposition of place as
highlighted in Document Standard (Curriculum)
THE NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT
The teacher should integrate the use of technology in teaching, in line
with the 21st Century Teaching and Learning.
The right application of technology would make the teaching and
learning session more interactive, interesting and meaningful.
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
To enhance the mastery of preposition of place (above, below, beside
and between) among Year 4 Bestari.
To initiate the element of fun learning by integrating technology
through PowerPoint Hyperlink Games.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
Is the usage of PowerPoint Hyperlink Games able to help develop
pupils mastery in preposition of place?
How does PowerPoint Hyperlink Games initiate the element of fun
learning ?
TARGET GROUP

4 pupils were selected for the intervention out of 28 pupils from Year 4

Bestari. These 4 pupils consist of 2 girls and 2 boys with low and

intermediate level of proficiency in English Language but poor in

understanding the preposition of place.

CONCLUSION
Based on the data interpreted, the interventions has successfully
enhance pupils mastery of preposition of place. Comparison of pre
and post test proved the positive effectiveness of intervention.
REFLECTION AND IMPLICATION

Games is a valuable technique used to facilitate learning from low

to excellent level

Planning of interesting and interactive is highly recommended

Fun and enjoyable environment ignites pupils attention and

motivation towards learning.

Increase the sampling size
Add more games
Apply in teaching other grammatical items
