PENDAHULUAN
introduction
Latar belakang

Plants are no stranger to all of us, we live in need of plants, either for consumption or as a
counterweight to the earth, for without the plants of this earth will be very hot. One part of the
plant is a leaf, where the leafs are able to photosynthesize and will produce their own food for the
plant. Therefore, sunlight is needed in helping the process of photosynthesis. In addition it also
needs the presence of chlorophyll, carbon dioxide and also water (Iserep, 1993).
LEAF
1. One of the plant organs growing
from twigs
2. is green because it contains
chlorophyll and serves as a catcher
of energy from sunlight for
photosynthesis
3. the obligate autotrophic organism,
having to supply its own energy
needs through the conversion of
sunlight into chemical energy.
Perfect Leaf Structure
Leaf midrib
put the leafs on the stem.
Petiole
connect the midrib or stem with the
leaf blade.
Leaf blade is the most important part of
most leaves because this is where the
main function of the leaf as the organ
of photosynthetic leaves the most
dominant work.

In observation of plants, the leaves are
The most easily observed part of the plant, because it is
located on the top so easily reached by the eyes of the
observer
Has variety of shapes or colors
Is the core of the growth and development of plant
because in it happen the process of photosynthesis
In plants there are two types of leaves are compound and
single leaf wich when the leaf is taken for the observation
sample it will not disturb other leaf work activities
Purpose of observation

To find the relation between the shape of leaf repeat

with the type of plant with one or two pieces of
seeds.
So it can be easily classified simply based on the
number of pieces of seed. Can also associate leaf
shape with the leaf function for plants.
The results of this observation can be used as a
reference and consideration in the classification
of plants simply.
So as to realize the benefits of the
classification is to simplify the object of
biological studies are diverse and easy to
learn, in addition to knowing the relationship
of kinship between one organism with other
organisms.
In observations made on some plants in the science park
Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences State University
of Malang found some differences in leaf shape.
This difference underlies our further observation of the
shape of leaf edges, leaf repeats and textures. Observations
were made on murbey plants (Morus alba L), palms
(Livistona chinensis), and clover (Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides).
METHODS
This research aims to find out
the difference in the shape of

morphology

Single leaf shape of like heart, pointed, jagged

edges, and base of blunt
Pinnate Leaf bone
Smooth upper surface of leaves, and slightly rough
on the under surface
Long size 2,5-20 cm and wide 1,5-12 cm
Definition

Morus alba is original plant from north area of

chinnese, but until now has been in cultivation in the
every areas, from subtropical climates until tropical
climates areas
classification

Kingdom : Plantae
Divisio : Spermatophyta
Sub Divisio : Angiospermae
Classis : Dicotyledoneae
Ordo : Urticalis
Family : Moraceae
Genus : Morus
Species : Morus sp
MULBERRY (Morus alba L.)

the shape of mulberry leaves are pinnate, this shape

are related with the kind of that seed pieces. pinnate
leave are the special character of dicotyle plant.
mulberry leave's colour is green because that leave
used for fotosytesis, so in that leaves contain many
chlorophyl in the palisade. we can find different colour
in the back leaves because in that side contain less
chlorophyl. mulberry leaves have jagged of the edge.
this shape signifies if mulberry is a family of berry plants.
clover
Morphology

morphology of clover is different, because shape

of clover like umbrella that composed from four
puppies that face to face. So shape of leaf used to
some plants species that arranged leaf like clover
Definition

Clover is group of water spinakes (Salviniales) from

genus Marsilea that in Indonesia easy to find in the
rice fields or irigation channel
Clover

clover has special shape of leave, that leaves can

not be used to identification the pieces of the seed.
But in under the leave we can find spore box in the
edge of the leave. And we look at the young leave
and it leave look like roll. So we can conclude if the
clove include into pteridophyte. Because pteridophyte
has a special character like has a spore box and that
young leave are rolled
Classification

Kingdom : Plantae
Subkingdom : Tracheobionta
Divisi : Pteridophyta
Class : Pteridopsida
Ordo : Salviniales
Family : Marsileaceae
Genus : Marsilea
Spesies : Marsilea crenata
Yellow palm
morphology

Compound leaf, and curved

Color of leaf blade is light green, tend to be yellow
Number of children leaves around 80 until 100
sheets
The leaves are quite long and covering the stem
Color of leaf bark and stalk golden, and slightly
green
Lots of leaflests on the stalk
Definition

yellow palm (Chrysalidocarpus lutescens s) is

decorative plants that famous, found commonly in
the yard
PALEM (Livistona chinensis)

Palm leaves has parallel form, it signifies palm tree

include in monocotyl family. We are thinking about the
shape of plame leave related with that habitat. That
shape of leaves can help palm tree to survive when
the stem grow high and have to fight with the wind.
