INTODUCTION:

1.In recent years, robotic cleaners have


taken major attention in robotics research
due to their effectiveness in assisting
humans in floor cleaning applications at
homes, hotels, restaurants, offices,
hospitals, workshops, warehouses and
universities etc
2. The main objective of this work is to
provide a substantial solution to the problem
of manufacturing robotic cleaner utilizing
local resources while keeping it low costs.
LITERATURE SURVEY:

I. International Research Journal of Engineering and


Technology (IR JET):
In the paper, main focus is to build and program it in
such a way, that it can move around freely and clean a
specific area by the vacuuming process. Brushes are
attached at its side in order to collect the dust while
moving. It uses Ultrasonic sensors to detect the
obstacles and hence change its direction while moving
and also preventing the cleaner to fall from height. AT
mega 328p/ Arduino , Ultrasonic sensor(SC-H04),Motor
driver (L293D),Suction unit (Vacuum) are used in this
projectV
II. International Journal of Advanced Research in
Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering:

In this paper, a floor cleaner robot based on ATMEGA328


have been developed. This cleaner robot is an electric
home appliance, which works in Automatic mode .Unlike
existing floor cleaner robots this is not a vacuum cleaner
robot; but it performs sweeping and mopping operation.
Detachable mop is used for mopping. For obstacle
detection and to avoid hurdle ultrasonic sensor modules
have been used. If any hurdle detected then robot change
the lane automatically, does not stop and starts cleaning
action. It follows zigzag path. Four motor driver circuit have
been used to drive the motors. , for water pump, for
cleaner. Relays have been used to drive the water pump
and cleaner motor.
OBJECTIVES :

To make obstacle avoiding robot using four IR


sensors.
To implement RSS(received signal strength)
algorithm on it.
To add safety features such as detection of
temperature,humidity and smoke.
Localization of bot to be demonstrated.
MOTIVATION :

The project is used for domestic and industrial


purpose to clean the surface automatically.
When it is turned ON, it sucks in the dust by
moving all around the surface (floor or any
other area) as it passes over it.
