Our Mission: A Step Towards

A Better Tomorrow
3:00 P M
The PARTNERING
Our Goal
1. We need the city of Dallas Chambers
of Commerce to let us use a small
fraction of the land to help the
homeless inside Trinity River Park.

1. Homeless pay the house off. The

house is theirs to own.

1. Continue to pay for the land they are

living on by working for the city.
The WHY

Reducing homelessness

Reducing the cost of homelessness for the city

Reducing the cost of homelessness for hospitals

Providing the city with employees

Improved park care

The FACTS

759
The FACTS
Tent City was home to nearly 300 people
(I-45)

597 homeless people counted during one-

night census in January

They cost taxpayers an estimated $40,000

597
$40,000

$23,880,000
The FACTS cont.
The DFW area has become a go-to city in terms of jobs.
35% of what triggers homeless is loss of jobs
Start by giving them a home and then working out all the other problems
The PLAN
285-acre park
Occupy 2.5 acres for the houses.
2.5 acres is equal to 108,900 sq feet
272 houses (each 20x20)
Partner with Habitat for humanity to recruit homeless people to work with us
We will have 102 homeless people to work with a number of our crew
members to build the house that they would be living in.
After all the houses are built the city of Dallas will employ those homeless people
to maintain the park.
The TIME
The 285-acre park is scheduled to be ready in 2021.
2-3 weeks per house
Starting the construction around six-months in advance to the opening of the park.
The money we would charge the residents to occupy the housing would be used
to build more of these communities in the future.
Cost of Requested Park Cost of Cleaning Disposal And water
Area Requested Amount of Service Fees
The BUDGET Land(Per 3 Acres)

$1,860,000 $350,000 150,000

The Financial LABOR
For about 20 homes, the price is about $100,000.
Pay the Homeless $4/hour for labor.(building the houses)

Once finished, ask them to pay a total of $5000 for land and supplies cost.

Rent for each tenant will be anywhere from $250-$300 a month based on a rent
to own situation.
Successful Outcomes
Utah implemented Housing first initiative, which reduced homeless
population from 14,000 to 200.
Downtown Dallas could become a more desirable and livable environment.
It could save taxpayers money in the long run.
Police officers spend less time patrolling these areas and spend more time
with more crucial matters.
Creating more jobs, not just for the homeless but for many others as well.
