MISSION

The mission of the Business Intelligence Community of Interest is to enable the


understanding, competency development, and interest in BI principles within Ford Motor
Company to accelerate the implementation of quality BI Application Development by
providing a forum to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and exchange of ideas related to
Business Intelligence concepts and principles.

GOALS

Facilitate the sharing of knowledge and exchange of ideas across the BI Tools &
Standards and processes
Exchange ideas and Best Practices in support of the globalization and standardization of
BI application development across the IT
Gather feedback regarding Business Intelligence Delivery Services from the IT
community via community events and focus groups
Provide an information channel to communicate competency development
opportunities regarding BI
Act as the Voice of the Customer to identify and support the needs of the IT community
regarding BI Application development

OPERATING PRINCIPLES

All attendees will show respect for each other's opinion


Everyone will have a fair chance to speak
All members are committed to participating and contributing to the community's efforts
Stick to the topics on the Agenda, if time permits, discuss additional topics
CoI is not the owner of processes or templates
CoI members should not be treated as dedicated resources
Any project effort undertaken by CoI is secondary to AD delivery
CoI efforts should will be aligned to an existing groups/organizations priorities and
expectations

Event notices will be posted on the BICoi calendar in BIDS SP Site
A BI CoI Distribution list will be created with self-subscription
A link to the www.bids.ford.com/BICOI sub site will be in BIDS main SharePoint Site
Events dates will be published on GSS News Letter, Yammer
If relevant , events notifications will be sent to other relevant CoI Leads and Product
Line Supervisors.
Planning Group agendas, meeting minutes, and calendars will be posted within the
BI CoI SP Site
