INTRODUCTION OF AMUL
Amul dairy was registered on 14th Dec.1946.

AMUL means "priceless" in Sanskrit. The brand name "Amul,


"comes from the Sanskrit word" Amuliya, "and was suggested by a
quality control expert in Anand.

In beginning there were just a few farmers supplying about 250


litters of milk a day soon the numbers of increased to 400 farmers
and the quantity of milk rose to 5000 litters a day but the dairy in
which movement was started was very small so it was not possible
to process all the milk at the same time, so villages were divided
and separate timing.
VARIOUS PRODUCT
Today Amul is a symbol of many things. Of high-quality products sold
at reasonable prices.

Amul products have been in use in millions of homes since 1946.

Amul Butter, Amul Milk Powder, Amul Ghee, Amul Cheese, Amul
Chocolates, Amul Shrikhand, Amul Ice-creams, Nutramul, Amul Milk and
Amuliya have made Amul a leading food brand in India.
MISSION 2020
Very ambitious future plan-
Turnover of 27000crore. (Three fold increase in the group
turnover).
Milk production 33.1 million liter/day.
Milk drying capacity 200 mt/day.

CSR is defined as the commitment of business to contribute


to sustainable development working with employees, their
families, the local community and society at large to improve
their quality of life, in ways that are both good for business
and good for development.
CSR ACTIVITIES IN AMUL
1. TREE PLANTATION:
Amul took an oath on 15th august 2012, after the flag
hoisting ceremony to plant a sapling and ensure that it
grew into a tree

Amul green movement wins the international dairy


federations award for the best environment initiative in the
sustainability category during the 4th global dairy
conference held at Salzburg congress canter , Austria on
28th April, 2010.
2. DAIRY DEMONSTARTION FARM:
Encourage the farmers to use high yielding scientific methods
by providing a demonstration.

3. AMUL SCHOLAR:
To promote education and nurture talent.

4. RURAL SANITATION CAMPAIGN:


No single milk producer shall attend to natures call in the
open, in order to ensure hygiene and help women milk
producers avoid embarrassment.
ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ACT,1986
It came into force on 19Th November 1986.

In the wake of the Bhopal Tragedy, the Government of India


enacted the Environment Protection Act of 1986.

The purpose of the Act is to implement the decisions of the


United Nations Conference on the Human Environments
they relate to the protection and improvement of the human
environment and the prevention of hazards to human beings,
other living creatures, plants and property.

INNOVATION

The process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that


creates value or for which customers will pay.

Amul has constantly been innovating be it launching new products,


creative marketing campaigns or challenging traditional societal trends to
come up with better ones.

In the 1960s, Amul became the first brand in the world to make skimmed
milk powder from buffalo milk. Also with its three-tiered cooperative
structure, Amul changed from traditional operations to a more cost-
efficient and effective structure.

For its continuous innovation, the brand won the CNN-IBN Innovating for
Better Tomorrow Award and World Dairy Innovation Award in the year 2014.
THEWHITE REVOLUTION

The great man behind the huge success of this innovation, Dr.
Varghese Kurien, died very recently at age 90, after having
lived a rich and fruitful life. He is touted as the father of Indias
white revolution.This is my homage to him.

Dr. Kurien founded it and was credited with its ultimate success. Most
people only know it by the brand Amul that stands front and center.

Today, this is the largest food marketing organization in the


country.
REVISED PAY STRUCTURE
Pay structure are defined by the number of grades they
contain and especially, in narrow or broad graded
structures, the span or width of the pay ranges attached to
each grade.

A revision of salary structure in all components, taking into


account the IT considerations, and it is given to make a
position market competitive.
e.g. if we revise a gross salary by 25%, we have to revise
all the components of salary by 25%. But, in increment we
may add the increased amount to any component.

Factories act 1948 was designed to protect children and
to provide for some health, welfare and safety measures.

TQM is an organizational strategy of commitment to improving
customer satisfaction by developing procedures that carefully
manage output quality.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM INITIATIVES:
From the strength of Total Quality Management initiative
Amul went on to implement Quality Management System of
International Standard.

Amul has been the first dairy in India to get accredited with
certification of ISO 2200:2005 & ISO 9001 for its operations
and plants

Amul Dairy has been recipient of countless awards for its


outstanding efforts in processing and providing quality
products to consumers .

(GCMMF) which markets and exports dairy
products under the brand of Amul has bagged
award 11th time for excellent performance in
exports of dairy products from APEDA - 2008-
09, IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality
Award 2003, "Best Best of All" Rajiv Gandhi
National Quality Award - 1999, The International
Dairy Federation Marketing Award (2007) for
Amul pro-biotic ice-cream launch.
