Objectives of the Module
Provide students with the ability to handle numerical
information in a business context.
Requires no prior statistical courses.
Choose between statistical methods.
Explore underlying theory and assumptions.
Undertake appropriate computations.
Interpret statistical results.
Interact with specialists in the area (market researchers)
Course Topics
Preliminary data analysis; descriptive stats; measures of
association and regression; basic probability, probability
distributions; inferential statistics - hypothesis tests.

Q&A session. Not a repeat lecture; not an examples class.

Purpose of Tutorials
The MBA has a wide range of abilities and expertise.
Tutorials run by myself and John Doyle. Will concentrate
on examples with mix of calculation and interpretation.

Module Information
January examination; pass mark = 50% overall.
Weighting: 60% Business Statistics, 40% Study Skills.
Formula sheets will be provided - not a memory test!
