EVAPORATIVE CONDENSER

An evaporative
condenser is a type of
cooling tower used to
cool and condense hot
refrigerant gas by
circulating it through a
condensing coil over
which water is
continuously sprayed.
WATER RELATED PROBLEMS IN
EVAPORATIVE CONDENSERS

SCALE FORMATION CORROSION

BIOLOGICAL GROWTH
SCALE FORMATION

Scale is formed from

overly concentrated
dissolved solids.
CORROSION
Evaporative condensers
and condenser coils are
primarily constructed of
galvanized steel, which is
prone to a unique
corrosion phenomenon
known as white rust.
MICROBIOLOGICAL GROWTH

Uncontrolled
microbiological growth can
cause major corrosion and
deposit problems in
evaporative condensers.
WATER TREATMENT PROGRAM
The water treatment program consists of:

Bleed Control
Chemical Feed and Control
Maintenance
SEQUESTRIN
ALGANON
SCOPE OF THE TREATMENT
Monthly supply of required chemicals
Weekly visit and water analysis
Chemical feeding and control
Monthly flushing
Annual Descaling (during the treatment, CDO
will be responsible for initial descaling)
Assigned water treatment technician (8 hours /
day, 6 days / week)
