ABSTRAK
Introduction: The elderly are the age group in humans who have entered the final stages of their life phase.
The number of elderly people in 2015 is 21.5 million people or about 8.43% of the total population of
Indonesia. From the population data shows the elderly population tends to increase every year, so that will
be followed also increased health problems in the elderly. Hence the need for family support in maintaining
and improving health status in elderly.Method: The method used in the research is descriptive and data
retrieval is done by using questionnaire. Sampling in this study was obtained from the questionnaire using
inclusion criteria with 16 respondents.Results: The number of respondents who met the criteria for the
study amounted to 16 respondents in the assisted families in Pangkalan Village, Teluk Naga Sub-district,
Tangerang, Banten Province. And that meets the criteria both in the social support of the family towards the
improvement of elderly health amounted to 12 respondent.Conclusion: From this study it can be concluded
that the level of good family support as many as 12 respondents (75%) and support to poor families against
the elderly as much as 4 respondents (25%).Keywords: Elderly, Elderly Health, Family Support
