• Current standard in FSAE both India and International.
• Low cost, manufactured with conventional tools.
• Easy to repair and modify.
• Over all weight - 50kg
• Material used - Chromoly (AISI 4130)
• Pipes dimensions -
• 1 quarter inch OD / 3mm thick for main roll hoop.
• 1 inch OD / 2 mm thick for rest of the members.
Design Considerations
• Torsional and Flexural Rigidity along the length of the
vehicle.
• Triangulated Sections to keep all the members in either
tensile or compression type of loading.
• Accommodation of Driver with safety as main priority.
• Notching, bending for Roll Hoops.
• Welding (TIG is preferred as it provides more strength)
