 Abstract :
• Every digital component or equipment requires validation or
testing before implementing it on the field or being used as a
part of a larger electronic system. These components include
complex embedded systems. This process is exhibited using an
Automated Test Station.

In This Project :

• The FPGA reconfigurable system is used to send required signals

to the desired electronic package; these signals sent are called the
stimulus and this periodic signal is generated using a VHDL code
(program), downloaded into the system.

 Abstract(Cont.) :
• The electronic package on receiving the signals responds
accordingly and this information is acquired by the
system for validation (acquisition phase).

• Once the process of stimulation and acquisition is

completed, this information can be accessed and
displayed on systems using appropriate code(C programs)
for verification.

 Objective of the project:
• The prime objective of this project is to develop an FPGA reconfigurable
system for the validation and testing of components to be used in Satellite
Electronic Subsystems .
• This includes sending various signals called stimulus to the component to
be tested and thereby obtaining the required information from them.

Usefulness of the project

• Saves Time – Creates time for tester to perform explanatory testing
and concentrate on areas which cannot be automated, thereby
increasing speed.

• Repeatability and Reusable – Same tests can be re-run eliminating

the risk of human errors and thereby, the automated tests can be
reused.

• Increased Coverage – Testers can create a test suite with tests to

cover any feature within the application.
