TYPES OF CELLS

6th grade
Science
First term 2018
Boston International School
• Objective(s): To recognize the living things and
their main characteristics to value the importance
of our body
• Learning objective(s): Recognizing the main
differences between the cells of animals and
plants, with the aim of identifying them and
associate the importance of each one of its parts
Biblical principle: The Holy Spirit, as the cells is a vital part of our
life
Romans 12:1 New International Version (NIV)
A Living Sacrifice
12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to off
your bodies
Biblical as a living

MENDING ORIENTED ACTIONS

If the students use Spanish, unless it is an emergency, he / she will lose from 1 to ten points of his/her participation
mark.

If the class is continuously interrupted, besides the standard procedure explained in our handbook, students might be
asked to cooperate with the class explanation.

Prokaryotic Cell

Prokaryotic cells are simpler and smaller than the eukaryotic cells. The term
prokaryote is derived from the Greek word- “prokaryote” meaning before
nuclei. These cells lack membrane bound organelles. Prokaryotic cells are
unicellular organisms, which reproduce through binary fission. In some
cases few prokaryotic organisms also reproduce by budding. Prokaryotic
cells have a cell envelope, which generally consists of a capsule, cell wall,
cytoplasm, plasma membrane, cytoplasm region or nucleiod region,
ribosome, plasmids, pili and flagella.
Eukaryotic Cell

Eukaryotic cells are those cells, which are complex and larger than the
prokaryotic cells. The term eukaryote is derived from the Greek word-
“eukaryote―meaning true or good nuclei. This cell includes all life
kingdoms except monera. Eukaryotic cells can be easily distinguished
through a membrane-bound nucleus. The life, which is present and visible by
our naked eye, is all made up of these cells. Eukaryotic cells are membrane-
bound organelles, which have a multiple membrane-bound organelles to
carry out specific cell tasks. They have different internal membranes, which
are known as organelles. These organelles play a vital role in cell
maintenance and other functions. These organelles generally consist of cell
wall, plasma membrane, nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplasts (plastids),
endoplasmic reticulum, ribosome, Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, vacuoles,
cytoplasm and chromosomes.

PRINTABLE ACTIVITIES
ACTIVITY # 1
ACTIVITY # 2
Worksheet to do in class.
Due date: week of 20th of March until the
25th with your books closed.
• Principle of the month: Based on:
• Isaiah 6:8 New International Version (NIV)
• 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And
who
• will go for us?”
• And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

• Song of the month:
• Joy for Jesus song - Special Song of the month Jesus I believe by Big Daddy Wave
• https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qZOQO82y4U

• The students have to reflect on the following:
• the Word of the Lord, as if it was the second Person, the Word, that was heard speaking; but it seems rather to be the voice
of the first Person, the Father: saying, Whom shall I send?
to the people of Israel, to reprove them for their blindness and stupidity, and to threaten them, and foretell unto them their
ruin and destruction; intimating that it was a difficult thing to pitch upon a proper person; and that there were but few that
were fit to go on such an errand: this is spoken after the manner of men; otherwise the Lord knew whom to send, and
whom he would send; and could easily qualify anyone he pleased, and send with such a message: and who will go for us?
