This book has taught me how to overcome hardships & use them to my advantage,
many of which I have had happen to me these past two semesters. (leveraging your
difficulties)
Teaches about overcoming your limits with ingenuity and innovation.

How this book is beneficial to professional growth:


It reviewed qualities of being a strong leader and ways to implement them into your
life. (Effort, Quality, and Thinking long term)
Talks about the concept of happy science (wisdom, self-reflection, and progress)
which would be beneficial to practice to avoid nurse burnout.

How this experience enhanced your knowledge of this position?


This experience helped me to understand just how valuable Charge RN’s are to the floor
They have more roles/responsibilities than I initially realized
Showed benefit of having a Charge that was out of ratio
Was able to respond to an emergency call & help her prepare for a bed meeting as well
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
 Donor Ambassador for American Red Cross
 Obtained ACLS through the American Heart
Association

 How this enhanced my knowledge?


 As a donor ambassador I was able to get a lot
more comfortable with patient
teaching/interaction.
 It also helped me to realize just how much the
world needs more nurses that would be willing to
donate their time to such organizations.
 Obtaining my ACLS taught me what to do in
situations where my patients were in cardiac arrest
 My overall goal is to work in the Cardiac ICU, so
this it vital knowledge
