Injury Certificate

Injury: Section 44 I.P.C.


Any harm, whatever illegally
caused to any person in body,
mind, reputation or property
Hurt: Section 319 I.P.C.
Whoever causes bodily pain,
disease or infirmity to any person
is said to cause hurt.
Grievous Hurt: Section 320 I.P.C.
1. Emasculation:
2. Permanent privation of sight of
either eye
3. Permanent privation of hearing
of either ear
4. Privation of any member or
joint.
5. Destruction of permanent
impairment of the powers of any
member or joint.
6. Permanent disfiguration of the
head or face
7. Fracture of a bone or tooth:
8. Any hurt which endangers life or
which causes the victim to be in
severe bodily pain or unable to
follow his ordinary pursuits for a
period of 20 days.
A 35 year old male patient named, Ramesh Ravindra Bansode,
resident of Vadgaon(Bk), Pune, working as a clerk in Collector
Office, Pune attended Casualty, Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical
College & General Hospital, Pune with history of assault by two
people with knife. Findings of the examination are as follows-
1. An open bleeding wound present over front of abdomen, left
side, iliac region, oblique, margins clean cut, one angle sharp
while other blunt, lower margin undermined, coils of intestine
can be seen at the base of wound. Length- 3cm, maximum
width- 1cm.
2. A spindle shaped open bleeding wound present over left arm,
lateral aspect, middle 1/3rd , oblique, margins clean cut, muscles
can be seen at the base of injury. Length- 6 cm, maximum width
– 0.5cm.
Prepare injury certificate. (Other necessary data should be
written hypothetically.)
A 35 year old male patient named, Ganesh Tukaram Shinde,
resident of Vadgaon(Bk), Pune, working as a clerk in Collector
Office, Pune attended Casualty, Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical
College & General Hospital, Pune with history of assault by two
people with wooden stick & iron rod.. Patient also gives history
of transient unconsciousness following assault. Findings of the
examination are as follows-
1. An open bleeding wound present over right parietal region,
margins appeared to be clean cut, but on careful examination
with hand lens, margins were found to be irregular, tissue
bridges & bone can be seen at the base of wound. Length – 4cm,
maximum width-1.5cm.
2. Two parallel, linear red swollen areas of length 7cm &
maximum width 1cm each separated by a pale area of width
1.5cm over back of chest left side, 3cm below left scapular angle.
Prepare injury certificate. (Other necessary data should be
written hypothetically.)
A 35 year old male patient named, Rajesh Hari Patil, resident of
Vadgaon(Bk), Pune, working as a clerk in Collector Office, Pune
attended Casualty, Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College &
General Hospital, Pune with history of assault by two people
with bamboo stick. Findings of the examination are as follows-
1. A well defined dark brown area of size 4cm X 3cm covered
with small vesicles present over left arm, lateral aspect, upper
1/3rd. Redness is seen in surrounding areas.
2. A well defined dark brown area of size 2cm X 1cm covered
with small vesicles present over fingertip of right index finger.
Redness is seen in surrounding areas.
Prepare injury certificate. (Other necessary data should be

A 35 year old male patient named, Anand P. Dongare, resident of
Vadgaon(Bk), Pune, working as a clerk in Collector Office, Pune
attended Casualty, Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College &
General Hospital, Pune at 09:00 a.m. with history of assault by
two people and complaint of pain over right buttock & left leg,
unable to bear weight on left leg.. Findings of the examination
are as follows-
1. Tenderness present over right buttock.
2. Middle 1/3rd of left leg red & swollen for 7cm X 5cm.
Tenderness present.
