How to find what your passion

1. Identify what your interests are: What are your hobbies? What makes you
happy? Does that passion relate to a career/major?

1. Find out how to pursue that interest. Any colleges? Scholarships?

1. Do not give up! It is posiible!!!!


Interviews

Who: Rebecca Miles

What path did you take after high school?: She did not finish high school. She
met a significant other had kids and dropped out of high school. She then
realized that it was very tough trying to make a living with a not well paying job
alongside raising children.

What did you end up doing with you life later on?: She went back to a community
college for 9 years and then transferred to Cal Poly. Majored in English and
linguistics

Who was your mentor or person you looked up to? Her mentor was her
preschool teacher named Linda and later on an english teacher named Barbara
who both inspired her to become a teacher.

Any advice for students who do not have sufficient motivation to continue their
education/lifetime goal: 1-Find something that inspires you (passion).

2-Be aware of your surroundings (do you like the atmosphere your environment).
3-Question your living standards and how you can change that.

Who: Ricardo Vega

What path did you take after high school: Despite having low grades, no clubs,
no sports, He went straight to college ( The Art Institutes of California- North
Hollywood) . He got his bachelor’s degree in audio production

What did you end up doing with you life later on? He is currently working at
starbucks in order to save up money and get a job with his degree.

Who was your mentor or person you looked up to? His mentor was Justin Pole
he is a recording and listening analysis and mixing major.

Any advice for students who do not have sufficient motivation to continue their
education/lifetime goal: 1)“Keep doing what you love to do because in the end
of the day the only thing that matters is your happiness. Yes a minimum wage
job at the moment may give you fast money, but that won’t secure a living or help
you in the long run”

2) Do you want to keep working a non well paying job or do you want to work on
something you love doing?”

Who: Roberto Contreras

What path did you take after high school?: Straight after high school he had a
child and began working because he had a child and he had to provide for her.

What did you end up doing with you life later on? He is still working, but now he
is taking some hancock classes in order reach his goal. Becoming a financial
advisor and open his own business.

Who was your mentor or person you looked up to? Gary Vaynerchuk. He is a
motivational speaker and his encouraging words and his experience influenced
him to find what he wants to do in life.

Any advice for students who do not have sufficient motivation to continue their
education/lifetime goal: 1) “Don’t worry about what anyone else tell you about
and focus on what you are good at”

2) Don’t be scared of failure the more you fail the closer you are to succeeding
WHY?
