 Established‐2004.

 Funded by all Group Companies.

 Welspun City, Anjar a 2500 acre barren land is turning itself to a green belt.

 Anjar, one of the worst‐hit areas of the 2001 earthquake is now an

Industrial Paradise.

 Welspun Vidya Mandir (2004) ‐CBSE certified High School caters to

around 800 students.

Eyes were provided free service in association with Eye Care

Specialists. Spectacle frames / glasses were provided at a deep

 Health Camps at Vapi (Oct’ 2008)

Over 150 beneficiaries from Morai (a nearby village) were benefited

from a health camp which was organized in association with the
Abhishyam Foundation.

 Fight against Leprosy (1 Aug’2008):

Welspun helped the leprosy patients in Thenpallipattu village near

Hyderabad with bed‐sheets in association with St. Joseph’s Leprosy
Patients Society.

Around 100 children of St. Anthony’s Home for Orphans celebrated

Xmas along with Welspun. A cultural evening entertained them and a
filling snack with Santa goody‐bags were distributed.

Welspunites on a voluntarily basis donated Rs. 7 lakh to the flood

affected victims. In addition to this, a truck‐load of towels and bed ‐
sheets worth Rs. 2.67 Lakh was distributed to them through the
Indian Red Cross society.

RECOGNITION IN SUSTAINABILITY

 Earth Care Awards – Times Of India & Jindal Steel Ltd.-2008

 WELSPUN received the 1st runner up award for reduction in emission and
mitigation of Greenhouse gasses for a cleaner and more environment friendly
project in 2004 .

 It went in for a fuel changeover, switching from heavy fuel oil to natural gas
in its electricity and steam generation projects. Under this, a 5.9 MW gas
turbine with waste heat recovery system was installed.

 It increased the system efficiency to about 70% from the usual 42% and
lowered fuel consumption, leading to a reduction in GHG emissions and
conservation of energy.
