Folder Setup

• Create a folder where you will place 3D Content Central models


 e.g. My Documents\SWW2010
• Create a folder where you will place weldment profiles
 Folder structure needs to follow the convention of the SolidWorks
Weldment tool – i.e. profiles should be placed in a second level sub
folder of the main folder
 e.g. My Documents\SWW2010\8020\15 Series

Create a 3D Sketch

• Use whatever method you are comfortable with to create a wire frame
model of your design

Create a Weldment

• Use the weldment tools to quickly build your frame


• One non-intersecting section at a time
• Use Trim tools

Apply a Material

• 80/20 parts are made from 6105-T6 aluminum.


 You can create this material by saving another and changing its
properties
 You can use 6061 Alloy

• Annotations
• Update Cut List
