• With the development in the field of robotics, human
intrusion has become less and robots are being widely used for safety purpose. In our day-to-day life, fire accidents have become common and sometimes may lead to hazards that make it hard for the firemen to protect human life. In such cases, a fire fighting robot is used to guard human lives, wealth, and surroundings from the fire accidents. COMPONENTS • Arduino Uno • Fire sensor or flame sensor • L293D motor Driver module • Servo motor(SG90) • Robot chassis with motors and wheel • A small can • Connecting wires SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM WORKING • The main aim of this project is the arduino,but in order to sense fire we use the fire sensor module. • If a fire is detected the output pin(D0)will give 0V(Low)and if there is no fire the output pin will be 5V(High). • We detect the direction of the fire we can use the motors to move near the fire by driving our motors through the L293D module. • When near a fire we have to put it out using water using a small container we can carry water. FIRE SENSORS • These type of sensors are used for short range fire detection and can be used to monitor projector as a safety precaution to cut devices off/on. • This unit is mostly accurate up to about 3 feet. • These sensor basically detects IR light wavelength between760nm-1100nm that is emitted from fire flame. Fig:fire sensor L293D MOTOR DRIVER • A motor driver is an integrated circuit chip which is usually used to control motor in autonomous robot. • Motor driver act as an interface between arduino and motors. • These Ics are designed to control 2 DC motors simultaneously. Fig:motor driver module DC MOTOR • A motor is an electrical machine which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.
• The principle of working of a DC motor is that
“whenever a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences a mechanical force”. Fig:Dc motor SERVO MOTOR(SG90) • Servo motors are used in applications where very high precision motion is required like assembly robots. • Servo can rotate approximately 180 degrees (90 in each direction). Fig:servo motor WHEELS • The wheel is the most common moving element among other possibilities including legs, flying, swimming and rolling.
• A wheel provides at least speed, accuracy and
stability for a robot, three characteristics very important in designing and build robots. WATER PUMP • Used to pump water when an abnormal condition in the system. • When excess temperature, smoke and flame detected, the water pump starts pumping water. ADVANTAGES • To detect the exact direction of the fire source. • Capability of sensing accurately with increased flexibility. • Reduce human effort. • Reliable and economical. • Not sensitive to weather conditions. APPLICATIONS • Can be used in server rooms. • Usable in power plant control rooms, captain bridges, flight control centers. • Disaster area monitoring and rescue. RESULT CONCLUSION • Here we successfully developed the fire fighting robot. • Robot detects temperature, smoke and flame at the site where the robot exits. • The movement of this robot vehicle is controlled by arduino Uno as per program. FUTURE SCOPE • Remote control of robot. • Camera and video transmission can be added. • Improve weight capacity of the robot. THANK YOU
