2.

1: SAFETY AND
HEALTH OFFICER
1) This section shall apply to such class , or description of
industries as the Minister may , by order published in the Gazette ,
specify.

2) An occupier of a place of work to which this section applies shall


employ a competent person to act as a safety and health officer at
the place of work.

3) The safety and health officer shall possess such qualifications or


have received such training as the Minister may , by notification in
the Gazette , from time to time prescribe.

2.2 : SAFETY AND
HEALTH COMMITTEE
1) Every employer have to establish committee if-
> (a) 40 or more persons employee in workplace.
> (b) Director General direction

2) The compostiton , election or appointment of persons , the powers of the members and my other
matter shall be as prescribed.

• Chairman (manager), secretary (Safety Officer), employer member (*), employee member (**).
< 100employee, 2 member each
>100 employee, 4 member each

3) An employer consult the committee to the making and maintenance of arrangements in promoting and
developing measures & checking the effectiveness of such measures.

Function of Safety &
Health Committee
• Membantu dalam pembangunan kaedah-kaedah keselamatan dan kesihatan, sistem kerja yang
selamat dan kajian semula keberkesanan program keselamatan dan kesihatan.

• Untuk menjalankan penyiasatan ke atas mana-mana perkara keselamatan dan


kesihatan dan untuk membawanya ke perhatian majikan.

• Untuk memeriksa tempat kerja sekurang-kurangnya tiga bulan sekali.

• Untuk membentuk suatu jawankuasa kecil untuk membantu jawatankuasa dalam


melaksanakan fungsi-fungsinya.

TRAINING
• Training means helping people to learn how to do something, telling
people what they should or should not do, or simply giving them
information. Training isn’t just about formal ‘classroom’ courses.

CONCLUSION
