• The scouting movement is an organization to train young people in
particular, to become good citizens, to live a virtuous, disciplined and
devoted to religion, race and society.

• The Scouting movement was formed by Sir Robert Stephenson Smyth

Baden Powell in the early of 1907. The Scouting Movement has become
one of the leading uniform movements in the world with membership of
more than 20 million people from over 100 countries around the world.

• The Scout Association of Johor Bahru is part of the scouting movement and
the organizations directly under the auspices of The Scouts Association of
Johor & Malaysia. Referring to the policy under the Act mentioned above,
PPMDJB intends to expand the potential of every citizen, regardless of
religion, race and nation to realize the full potential of individuals in
developing a peaceful, prosperous and peaceful through Scouting

This amount is expected to continue growing and reach the target which it will be more
than 20,000 members with estimated of growth over > 11%. The total group numbers are
currently 224 that consists of School Based Groups & Community based groups.
• There is still more room for Membership Growth because the indicator of the data
collected is based on Registration Fees. For 2010, due to the registration fees rate is
high only 43% of total estimated scout members were registered.

• The Opening of new schools in Johor Bahru area aligned with the development
and growth of Johor Bahru itself and also the development of Iskandar
Development Region (IDR), the memberships will continuously increase

ScoutsJB ADVANCE – This program
focus group is on Primary & Secondary school
scouts. The program will be divided into 3
category which they are Blue, Green & Yellow.
The concept of this program is to implement
Scouts Advancement Scheme and obtain the
badges.

program is based on Camporee +
Extreme activity. There will be 4 categories of
competition during the program which they
are ScoutsJB Got Talent, ScoutsJB Battlefield,

3 King Scout Program – King Scout

program is one of the high prestige program
where Scouts at the age of 17 will be train to
obtain the highest award in Malaysia Scouting.
Our role is to train and produce the best
candidates.

JOTA – Jota is an acronym of “Jamboree on
the Air” where all scouts from all over
Nation/Region will communicating with each
other through Amateur Radio. Specific topic will
be given for knowledge & experience sharing.

5 ScoutsJB Woodbadge – is one of the very

important program series in Scouting
Movement. Woodbadge contains several series
of training module for new Scout Leaders. The
aim of the program is to train a quality Scout
Leaders and proper Scout Education.

6 ScoutsJB Compass – the concept of

program is alike symposium/conference where
Scout Leaders (Commissioners) & Scout
Master will be discussing & presenting about
the scout topics & annual meeting.

Partnerships
• The establishment of IM (Iskandar Malaysia) Scouts. Every Scouts in the Iskandar Region will
be acknowledge as Iskandar Scouts. They will be assisting the IRDA as a change development
& marketing agent.
• More than 10,000 members will participate in this program actively. Estimation of 50,000
citizens in the Iskandar Region will be aware of this program & Iskandar Region intention.
• IRDA to support this program and acknowledge the movement based on the following
proposed efforts:
– Supporting the local Scouts group, crew & Scout members with various Iskandar Marketing Tools
(Internationaly/Locally).
– To fund registration fees of each member for every year.
– To support the Scouts members with various training & development courses & programs that will
include Local Agenda 21 programs, etc.
– To establish an IM tagline, branding & related section with scouting method.
– To establish or join effort to organize & fund yearly Iskandar Malaysia International Scouts Jamboree.
– To support annual Scouts event organize in Iskandar.
– To assist & provide any local area for Scouts Camp & Training Ground.
– Any other proposed idea to be discuss.
