y To study how performance appraisal is done in
Essar.
y To analyze as to how it helps in making
decisions regarding the performance of
employees in the organization.
y To know if Performance appraisal analysis is of
any help in performance forecasting and
planning for the firm.

decisions regarding the future operations.
 

Essentially any analysis, review or evolution of


performance or behavior of an employee in any
manners formal or informal, oral or documented,
open or confidential at any point of time and for
any purpose is in the nature of performance
appraisal.
  
y wethodology adopted in this study is based on data collected by questionnaires
method.

y The data is collected randomly from 40 employees in different departments.

y The data collected for the project work and analysis are from two sources.

* Primary Source

* Secondary Sources.

y For primary data a questionnaire had been prepared to assess the performances

Appraisal. The opinion survey was Undertaken.


y The secondary sources of data were collected from the bibliography source some
different departments.

÷. The employees say that the HRD department is not active in reviewing
each appraisal and want to discuss this issue with the line managers.
2. The employees agree that the appraisal system in ESSAR provides an
opportunity for each appraise to have clear understanding of what is
expected from his/her by his/her reporting officer during that particular
year.
3. They also strongly agree that the appraisal system helps manager to
plan their performance well.
4. From the analysis the total or overall percentage score was calculated
to be 45%.Hence it is clear that the opinions of the employees
regarding performance appraisal for employees In ESSAR is good.
