1. Three-dimensional Ibrahim M. In the paper the use of GFRP bars as internal reinforcement in
nonlinear finite element Metwally deep beams were studied. Twelve reinforced concrete deep beams
analysis of concrete deep (2015) were selected from the literature. Objective of the study is to
beam reinforced with investigate capabilities of the finite element simulation for further
GFRP bars study on GFRP RC deep beam. The load deflection behavior,
failure mode, failure load, crack propogation, GFRP
reinforcement strain, concrete strain distribution etc. were
obtained. From the results it was concluded that the developed
models were efficient in predicting the behavior of GFRP RC
beams.

3. Prediction of the Ashrak Mohamed The work has done to study the behavior of
behavior of reinforced (2014) reinforced concrete deep with and without web
concrete deep beam openings using finite element method. To study
with web openings the effect of the reinforcement distribution on the
using the finite element beam overall capacity and compared to the
method Egyptian code guidelines. The loading scheme, the
location of web openings and reinforcement
distribution are the parameters considered.

4. Strut and Tie Modeling Mohammed In this study, a Strut and Tie Model (STM) to
of Deep Beams Shear Kareem assess the shear strength of FRP reinforced deep
Strengthened with FRP Dhahir(2018) beams was proposed. The accuracy of the
Laminates proposed STM was assessed and compared with
other existing design provisions using a data base
of 46 deep beams reinforced with different
amounts of FRPs. The results showed that the
proposed STM has yielded accurate and consistent
results, while other design provisions have
underestimated the shear strength considerably.

5. Behaviour of Fibre A.K. Sachan A total of 14 concrete deep beams were tested to failure and the effects of
Reinforced (1990) fibre content, percentage reinforcement and the type of loading were
Concrete Deep studied. It was found that the addition of steel fibres to concrete results in a
Beams significant increase in ultimate strength of deep beams. It was also observed
that the failure of fibre
RC beams was more ductile and gradual compared with the failure of plain
and reinforced concrete beams.
6. Structural behavior H.S. Kim In order to investigate the effect of axial loads on the structural behaviors of the deep
of Deep RC beams (2011) RC beams, specimens are prepared to have different shear span-to-depth ratios and
under Combined subjected to axial loads of 235kN or 470kN. From the experiments, failure modes,
load-deflection relationships, strains of steel bar and concrete are observed. As

results, for the deep beam with shear span-to-depth ratio of 0.5, load at the beam
Force failure decreases as applied axial load increases, while the deep beams with shear
span-to-depth ratios of 1.0 and 1.5 show that the applied axial load delays the beam
failure. From the experiments, the deep beam with relatively small span-to-depth
ratio under axial load shows early failure due to concrete crushing, which cannot be
directly applied to widely known design method for deep beam, strut-to-tie model.
