Canadian Centre for Occupational Health
and Safety Act, which was passed by
unanimous vote in the Canadian Parliament.

1. ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
 When accidents are investigated, the
focus should be placed on finding the
root cause of the accident so you can
prevent it from happening again. The
purpose is to find facts that can lead to
actions, not to find fault.
2. EMERGENCY RESPONSE
 An emergency plan specifies procedures
for handling sudden or unexpected
situations, and is an important component
of any workplace health and safety
program.
3. ERGONOMICS

 Anergonomics program is a systematic

approach and a management system
that is designed to reduce risk from
ergonomic hazards in the workplace.
4. HAZZAR ID, RISK ASSESMENT
 Every workplace has hazards. By
identifying them, you will be better
prepared to control or eliminate them
and prevent accidents, injuries, property
damage and downtime, and keep your
workplaces health and safety.
5. HEALTH AND SAFETY
COMMITTES
 In most Canadian jurisdictions, a health
and safety committee is required by law.
Made up of both labour and
management representatives, the group's
primary responsibility is to help maintain a
safe workplace by discussing concerns,
making recommendations, and following-
up on progress made.
6. HEALTH AND WELLNESS
 Thereis a strong connection between the
health and well being of people and their
work environments. When people feel
valued, respected and satisfied in their
jobs and work in safe, healthy
environments, they are more likely to be
more productive and committed to their
work. Everyone can benefit from a
healthy workplace.
7. LOG OUT AND TAG OUT
 Lockout and tag out is more than putting
a lock on a switch; it consists of
comprehensive step-by-step processes
that involve communication,
coordination, and training.
8. VIOLENCE PREVENTION
 Workplace violence is a serious and
complex issue that affects all business
sectors and occupations. Learn about the
key components of an effective
workplace violence prevention program,
and take action to eliminate or reduce
the potential for violence
9. WORKPLACE INPECTION
 Inspectionsare an essential part of your
health and safety program. Learn about
the different types of inspections, and
how to effectively prepare, conduct, and
document them
1. CHEMICAL MANAGEMENT
 If chemicals are not used, stored and
handled properly, they can cause injury,
illness, disease, fire, explosions, or property
damage. Having a chemical safety
program in your workplace will reduce
health and safety risks, lower
environmental impact, and reduce
operation costs.
2. CONFINED SPACE
MANAGEMENT
A confined space program helps ensure
that if entry into a confined space is
absolutely necessary, then it can be done
safely, under controlled conditions, and
with an emergency plan in place to deal
with the unexpected
3. HEALTH AND SAFETY
MANAGEMENT
A health and safety management system
improves your ability to identify and
remove hazards and decrease risk at the
workplace.
