The Structure and Maintenance

Standards of Heat-engine Plant’s Belt

Conveyer

August 20, 2017

1
Working Principles of the Belt Conveyer

• The packaging tape forms a ring

shape around the drive and tail-
redirecting rattlers.Both the upper
and lower tapes are supported by
the roller, and the tension device
will provide the tension tapes need
for operation .The motor will send
power to the roller, and the belt will
be actuated by the friction force
between rollers and tapes. Then the
raw coal and other materials will be
transported through the tapes.

2
The Structure of Belt Conveyer

• The belt conveyer is

composed of tapes, rollers,
supports, rattlers, driving
devices, tension devices,
coal guide troughs and
shields.

frames;
And adjustment of the complete machine.
2. Inspection and adjustment of middle frames and outriggers.
Six. Tension Device
Inspection and reshaping of vertical or car-type supports
, and the inspection and replacement of steel wire ropes and
pulley groups.
Seven. Inspection and Replacement of Coal Dropping Drums
and Coal Guide Troughs

Technical Requirements for the Maintenance of Belt Conveyer’s Important
Equipment
Tape Transmission Drums
1. The slab bonding of herringbone drums should be fastened without frill,
breakage and tape drop-off,
etc.
2. Check the wearing condition of the rubber, and replace the slab once the
herringbone drum’s groove abrades.
3. While replacing the herringbone slab, it is required to pay attention to the
direction and make sure that the herringbone drum rotates in the same
direction as the belt
does.
4. In case that the vulcanized plate is broken or its damaged parts account for 1/5
of the drum surface, it is required to
mend or replace the slab accordingly.
5. The flat screw of the cloth-inserted and rubber-coating drums should be fully
fastened, and the screw end should be fully inserted
into the rubber coating of the drum. The gap between joints should not exceed 3
mm.
6. For the cloth-inserted and rubber-coating drums fixed by screws, once the
screws become flexible, measures should be taken immediately
, or the screw would very likely scratch the transmission belt.
7. Make sure that the drum shafts, bearings and bearing bushes conform to
relevant requirements. 11
Rollers

Rollers used by belt conveyer can be divided into groove shape rollers, flat idlers and groove
shape impact idlers.

1. The roller surface should be smooth and without rags and other flaws.

2. The roller bearing should be protective with lubricating grease and fully sealed; and its
tandem axle should not exceed 1.5mm to enable flexible rotations.

3. The elastic roller’ s rubber ring should be intact and the elastic plate should not have
deformation.

4. In terms of roller installation, center on the belt support and make sure that the deviation
does not exceed 2mm.

5. Rollers along the belt should not be unevenly placed, and the height difference of adjacent
rollers should not exceed 2mm.

6. The connecting bolts of roller supports and frames should be fixed without deflection.

7. The lower roller should be horizontally installed, and the upper roller should have its
angles of both sides equal to each other.

8. The head of roller shaft should be closely inserted into the slot of the support.
12
9. The cotter of the elastic roller’s pin roll should be intact.
The Quality Requirements of Cold Adhibiting Method for Belts

1. The belt lacers should be vertical to the belt center. Before the lining work, it is required to mark
off the center line of the width between belts to be connected
for alignment and correction reasons.
2. Mark off the steps according to the number of tape layers. Keep each step 100mm wide.
3. The number of steps is the number of belt layers minus 1, and the width of each step should be
no lower than 100mm.
4. Removing the unwanted parts according to the lines. It is required to remove them carefully and
not scratch the cloth layer.
Note: Smooth bonding is required.
5. After the removing work, use steel wire cutter or wood rasp to clear away the rubber left on the
canvas. Use acetone or toluene
to scrub the surface when necessary (be careful and do not damage the canvas).
6. After the scrubbing work, use FN---309 and polyisocyanate Adhesive ZQ—1 to prepare the glue.
Keep the weight ratio to 20 : 1.
The coating quantity depends on circumstances, and each lacer usually needs 2.0~2.4 kg.
7. Prior to cementing, it is required to clean up the lacers. In case that the cementing is conducted
in open or dusty spaces,
measures should be taken to protect the coating.
8. The lacers should have no oil dirt or moisture. In case of burning-off, the heating temperature
should not exceed 100℃.
13
9. Conduct even cementing. Usually brush two times.Wait until the first
bonder layer dries (not sticky) before brushing it the second time. After the
second bonder layer dries (not sticky), carefully fold them: start from one side
of lacers, and fold them from the center to get rid of the air inside.

Α——angle between tapes’ straight and lacer flanges, a=90°;
a——aperture size at the lacers, a is no more than mm;
L——length of each step, 100mm;
L——length of lacers, 400~600mm;
E——aperture size of each step slot, E≈1mm;
B——width of tapes.
14
10. After the folding work, use 2-pound or 4-pound hammer to tamp it from the center

(no gap is allowed); and get rid of the air inside lacers.

11. After tamping, make sure that the belt does not have tension and let it become firm
naturally. After 12 hours in winter and

8 hours in summer, it can be put into operation.

12. The bonding location’s environmental temperature should be 20℃~40℃.

It is not favorable to conduct the bonding work when the temperature is lower than 5℃.
Make sure that the relative humidity does not exceed 80%.

In case the bonding work has to be done during rainy or gloomy days, use iodine-
tungsten lamp, infrared ray or electric hair dryer to make

the glue dry faster on the canvas. Note: heat the canvas evenly.

13. For newly-replaced belts, their tension devices should have 3/4 tension travel.

14. For mechanical or bonded lacers, the minimum distance between two lacers should
exceed 10m.
