 CONCLUSION
INTRODUCTION
 Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is the
company responsible for electricity transmission and
distribution within the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .

 The creation of UPPCL on January 14,2000.

Its chairman is Mr. Alok Kumar.

132/33 KV SUBSTATION
(MOHADDIPUR
There are two line source connections at the substation .
 220/132 kV S/S Motiramadda. (Incoming)
 220/132kV S/S Mohaddipur old. (Incoming)

TRANSFORMER
Transformer is a static machine, which transforms the potential of
alternating current at same frequency.

TYPES OF
TRANSFORMER

BUSBAR
When a numbers of line operating
at the same voltage have to be
directly connected electrically
,bus-bar are used, it is made up of
copper or aluminum bars and
operated at constant voltage.

CIRCUIT BREAKER
 A circuit breaker is an equipment ,which can open or close a circuit
under normal as well as fault condition.

Types of circuit breaker

 Oil circuit breaker

 Air-blast circuit breaker

 Sulphar hexafluoride circuit breaker (SF6)

 Vacuum circuit breakers

OIL CIRCUIT BREAKER
 It is designed for 11kv-765kv.
 The contacts are immersed in oil bath.

The hydrogen gas is formed in the tank

which has a high diffusion rate and good
cooling properties.

It act as good dielectric medium and

quenches the arc.

AIR BLAST CIRCUIT
BREAKER
 This operates using high velocity
blast of air which quenches the arc.

Air should be clean and dry to

operate it properly.

It consists of blast valve ,blast

tube & contacts.

SF6 CIRCUIT BREAKER
It contains an arc interruption
chamber containing SF6 gas.
It also cools the arc and extinguishes
it.
SF6 rapidly absorbs the free
electrons in the arc path to form
immobile negative ions to build up
high dielectric strength.

VACCUM CIRCUIT
BREAKER
It is designed for medium voltage
range (3.3-33kv).

Due to vaccum arc extinction is

very fast.

INSULATOR
The insulator serves two purposes. They support the conductors
(bus bar) and confine the current to the conductors.

Types of insulators

 Pin type insulator

 Suspension insulator

 Strain insulator
LIGHTNING ARRESTER
A lightning arrester is a device
used on electric power systems
and telecommunication systems
to protect the insulation and
conductors of the system from
the damaging effects
of lightning.

WAVE TRAP
 Wave Traps are used at sub-
stations using Power Line Carrier
Communication (PLCC).

 It offers low impedance for the

power frequency and high
impedance for communication

frequency.

RELAY
Relay is a electrically operated
switch.

Current flowing through the coil

of the relay creates a magnetic field
which attracts a lever and changes
the switch contacts.

CONCLUSION
We work on fields instead of closed room.

We work on power station equipment practically.

We have learned the practical aspect of power system .
