2. Tonsils
They ring the pharynx (throat) where there job is to trap and remove any bacteria
or other foreign pathogens entering the throat. If they become congested with
bacteria, they swell and become red, a condition called tonsillitis.
3. Peyer’s patches
They resemble tonsils found in the distal wall of the small intestine. Lymphoid
follicles are also heavily concentrated in the wall of the appendix. Macrophages
found in these organs.
