TCP/IP parameters download by LAN

S- Box TCP/IP settings : SIMS_TOOL

S-Box alone powered and connected to the computer through RS-232


(Rx, Tx, Gnd) with crossed cable:
S-Box Rx <-> DB9 pin 3
S-Box Tx <-> DB9 pin 2
S-Box Gnd <-> DB9 pin 5

S-Box put in Global Reset :


- Push & Maintain the Reset button on the right side
- Let the PGM LED flash 3 times
- Release the button

PGM LED is flashing @ 0.5 Hz instead of 2 Hz in RUN mode

S- Box TCP/IP settings : SIMS_TOOL
Start SIMS_TOOL, specify the serial port on your computer,
click “Connect to S-Box” (comm. Online), enter the TCP/IP parameters :

- > “ Send to S-Box”


- > In case of bad serial communication, you can download new IP parameters by LAN 3
S- Box TCP/IP settings : SIMS_TOOL
SIMS_ TOOL is opening a TwinSoft application
TempFile in C:\Program Files\LEM\SRC :

Open it (double-click) & enter right user/password : LEM / 1435 4


S- Box TCP/IP settings : SIMS_TOOL

- Communications >
PC Setup
to get properties

- Enable local RS-


232 (9600 bauds)

- Check serial
communication with
Communication >
RTU information

- If no data reported,
communication is
not set

In S-Box I/O
resources,
enter the
TCP/IP
parameters for
the Ethernet
port.

Disable RS-232

Select TCP/IP
communication

Use the default


IP address
192.168.1.99

Your computer
must then have
a compatible IP
address

Send Program

Once loaded,S-Box
is restarted (new
TCP/IP param. )

Process upload
failed -> OK

Change computer
IP address
