History of OSHA
 The concept of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) is
first started from the industry in the United States in
1911,
 Do not pay attention to health and safety for its workers.
 Failure on the implementation of the work that resulted in
harm for companies/workers commonly called the Accident,
 Accidents considered a fate that must be accepted by the
company and the workforce.
 Workers who are victims do not get attention, both morally
and materially from the company.
 The company emphasizes that accidents are the fault of their
own labor, so companies do not need to provide appropriate
compensation.

History of OSHA
 H.W Heinrich (1931) The Domino Theory.
 This concept has given attention to the accident that
occurred.
 Accidents that occur due to shortcomings inherent in
the working environment and / or errors labor.
 The development of this concept is the term unsafe
condition and unsafe act

Domino Theory
 Heinrich
 Ratio of 1:29:300.
 Each major accident happened, then there is also 29
Accidents Minor, and about 300 accidents with no
damage.
 Frank Bird
 Ratio of 1:10:30:600 (1.7 million accidents).
 Every serious accident happened, there were also 10
Accidents Minor, 30, damage to property, and about 600
Accidents without loss.

Perkembangan Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja
 TYE/PEARSON
 Ratio of 1:3:50:80:400 (research on 1.000.000 accidents)
 Every Fatal Accident that occurred, there are also 3
Accidents Minor so that the victim will be out for three
days, so there are 50 events that require P3K, 80 times
and 400 property damage accidents without damage.
