Microwave Access. WiMax merupakan
salah satu rising star pada zamannya.

terbagi menjadi 2, yaitu

E-Utran EPC
E-Utran atau Evolved EPC atau Evolved Packet
UMTS Terrestrial Radio Core. EPC
Access Network, menghubungkan traffic
menghubungkan antara data dengan Packet
User Equipment dan Data Network (PDN).

▪ E-Utran terdiri dari Base Stations.

▪ Setiap base station dikenal dengan enodeB atau
eNB

▪ EPC terdiri dari Mobility Management Entity

(MME), Serving Gateway (SGW), Home
Subscriber Server (HSS), Packet Data Network
Gateway (P-GW).

▪ MME mengontrol jalannya traffic paket paket

data
▪ SGW bertindak seperti router untuk handover
antar base station dan meneruskan data ke P-
GW
▪ P-GW berkomunikasi dengan PDN server
▪ HSS berisi informasi tentang subscriber, alamat
ip, dan lokasi.

▪ Arsitektur dan cara kerja WiMax sebenarnya

hampir sama dengan cellular network, hanya saja
untuk WiMax untuk internet.
▪ Dengan Base Station yang besar sehingga
coveragenya besar.
▪ WiMax menggunakan Point to Multipoint, satu
base station dapat digunakan banyak Terminal
Equipment (TE)
