Voltage Stabilizer is also known as AVR
(Automatic Voltage Regulator)

• regulate a constant voltage in a settable level.

• many function of AVR such as rectifier, potential divider and
amplifiers.
• basic purpose of a Voltage Stabilizer is to protect the electrical/
electronic gadgets
Problem Statement

• All electrical and electronic devices are designed and manufactured

to operate at maximum efficiency with a typical voltage supply which
is known as the nominal operating voltage. Depending on the designed
safe operating limit, the working range may be limited to ± 5%, ±10%
or more

Project Objectives

• To understand the functionality of voltage stabilizer.

• To develop and simulate the automatic voltage stabilizer for small
electric appliances based on understanding of AVR over Proteus
software.
• To construct the hardware and validate the automatic voltage
stabilizer from the simulation analysis.
Scopes of Project

• There are many types of automatic voltage regulators and each has
its own function. Thus, AVR will be investigate under this project in
order to develop the 1kVA rating voltage stabilizer and to sustain
voltage drop 5%-10% of 230 Vrms using Proteus software as
simulation. Therefore, the differences in term of type of AVR, cost
and function is will be study in this project by implement in small
electrical appliances
The Voltage Stabilizers can be broadly
categorized into three types.

• Relay Type Voltage Stabilizers

• Servo based Voltage Stabilizers
• Static Voltage Stabilizers

Conclusion

• It will be construct using simple and inexpensive components.

• This device will automatically sense the change in the input level
and adjust itself to maintain a constant output according to the
circuit used.
