Addressing first Key Challenge of Libero Sports
Major football academies run by large corporations like Air India, ONGC, HAL etc are now suffering from the
issue of unplanned operation. Libero should try to provide cost effective consultancy solution to these
acedemies using proper players selection, revenue generation by brand leveraging and chalk out future
road maps for them.
Once these organizations feel the utilities of these academies apart from the purpose of CSR activities
they would show more interest in further capital infusion and better infrastructure would be in place
for these academies.
Libero’s connection with AIFF , SAI and Sukhvinder’s participation in FICCI can help in the simplification of
complex approval processes in approving the professional solutions provided by Libero.
Enormous opportunity in East need to be tapped
• As per our analysis, Libero can go aggressively for deals in the east. 3 major clubs in Kolkata, the nerve
center of Indian football can be their target.
• 3 majors in Kolkata, Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Mohammedan Sporting Club are among the oldest and
most popular football clubs in India.
• Mohun Bagan has its own academy and currently suffering from financial crises due to various reasons.
• Libero can go for the deal as at present Libero’s offer can be lucrative for Mohun Bagan.
• Mohammedan Sporting Club is currently bankrupt but it has its own ground and built-in-infrastructure.
• East Bengal is also suffering from financial crises. Libero can leverage these opportunities too.
Player representation for big clubs & footballers
• The way Libero brought Nike and Sesa Football Academy closer, similarly they can try for better deal of
behalf of clubs and its esteemed brand partners cum investors.
• Also Libero can try out for possible investment opportunities for these cash-stripped clubs from its big
corporate house partners.
• To make the investment of its brand partners and corporate partners successful, Libero should use its
connection with AIFF for making i-league a truly professional and strong viewership based tournament.
• Though ISL, exhibition matches played by big international clubs and countries would trigger football craze
in India in the upcoming days, but improvement in the image and operation of i-league can truly contribute
to Indian football future.
Big bang strategy adoption required for future
growth of Libero
Though it may not sound very lucrative deal right
now but choosing right talents from school level
specially from east, north-east and Goa region can
create huge talent pool for Libero Academies and
become a model for India’s football revamp.

Libero’s professional approach can make the corporates understand the value of these academies in terms of
investment opportunities not as CSR.
Libero should try to approach the corporates like ONGC, Indian Airlines, HAL, Mahindra etc. who has football academies
but they are currently run with out any proper mission, vision and value creation purpose.
Libero can show the value proposition of these academies in terms of business opportunities, more brand recognition of
these corporate houses if they properly treat the funding in football academies as investment .

Conclusion
In a cricket crazy nation, a sports like football where India’s position is extremely low, consulting is not easy.
But for a developing nation like India, affordability of football for common men is far more practical than
other costly sports.
Corporate bodies definitely are not capable of running football academy successfully. But pointing out
the faults of corporate team management and provide value proposition can be better for Libero’s
business prospect.
As Libero is really passionate about this business, they should understand that to make their business
sustainable, improvement of India’s broader football infrastructure in the mandatory clause and all their
planning should keep this in mind.
