Introduction:

An individual may face a lot of challenges in his life which


includes playing different roles to comply with the demands of the
different facets of his life, which may cause him to experience
several conflicts, including work-family conflicts and its
dimensions such as: time-based, strain-based, and behavior-based
conflicts. Experiencing such, this may affect an individual’s
organizational attachment, a state wherein an employee becomes
emotionally attach to an organization.
The study examined the work-family conflict and its
relationship on organizational attachment.
Rationale/ Background of the Study:

•The researcher became interested to make use of the Local


Government Unit of San Jose, Batangas as the setting of the
study because there have been only a few studies conducted
about work-family conflict being experienced by employees of a
local government unit, and the said local government unit
haven’t been used as a subject of any similar study before.

•The reason why the researchers want to accomplish this study


is to know the relationship of work-family conflict to the
organizational attachment of employees.
Statement of the Problem:
This study aims to determine the relationship of Work-Family Conflict to
the Organizational Attachment Among Employees of Local Government
Unit of San Jose, Batangas.

The assessment of organizational attachment of the respondents got


the composite mean of 3.07 which is verbally interpreted as

A strategy was proposed to balance the time of the


employees between work and family that will strengthen their
attachment to the organization.
Research Methodology

Research Design: The researchers used a descriptive method


of research. This type of research method is not simply
amassing and tabulating facts but includes proper analyses,
interpretation, comparisons, identification of trends and
relationships. The researchers believe that this was the most
appropriate one in view of the fact that it will help to explain the
information and attributes needed in finding out the effect of
work-family role conflict to the organizational attachment of
employees of Local Government Unit of San Jose, Batangas.

Respondents of the Study: The respondents of the study was
115 employees of Local Government Unit of San Jose,
Batangas. The researchers chose Local Government Unit of San
Jose, Batangas as they know that they could give appropriate
information regarding the study.

Sampling Design: The researchers used random sampling under


probability sampling where we select a group of subjects (a
sample) for study from a larger group (a population). Each
individual is chosen entirely by chance and each member of the
population has an equal chance of being included in the sample.
Data Gathering Instrument: This study used
modified standardized survey questionnaire as an
instrument to gather the needed information. The
instrument is composed of three parts: respondent’s
profile, assessment of work-family conflict and
assessment of organizational attachment
Data Gathering Procedure: The researchers read different books and
journals in order to come up with a topic. After the approval of the
topic, the researcher decides to start on working with it. The researcher
made a letter that addressed to the head of the company to seek
permission to conduct the study. The researchers distributed
questionnaire to 115 employees of LGU San Jose as respondents of the
study.
The researcher retrieved questionnaire answered by the
selected respondents and the data undergo tabulation, analyzation and
interpretation.

Statistical Treatment of Data: The researchers used frequency or


Percentage, Weighted Mean, Pearson’s r, Analysis of Variance
(ANOVA), and Regression Analysis as their tools in gathering the data
needed for the study.
Recommendation:
