CHROMIUM IN HVOF METHOD ABSTRACT • The investigation of microstructure and properties of chromium-base alloy has been carried out after various coating being deposited by HVOF method and recovering heat treatment being fulfilled. The optimal conditions of recovering heat treatment make it possible to retain the entire complex of mechanical properties at the level typical for the alloy without coating. The wear and hardness strength of the disc plate with coatings have shown the advantage of coatings with an external chromium layer of metal coatings. INTRODUCTION • Coating is a covering that can be applied to the surface of an object, normally called as substrate. The purpose of application of coating is the value enhancement of the substrate by improving its appearance, corrosion resistant property, wear resistance, etc. Process of coating involves application of thin film of functional material to a substrate. The functional material may be metallic or non-metallic. LITERATURE REVIEW in 1844 by Wurtz He investigated the metallic nickel deposition from an aqueous solution of its salt by reduction with hypophosphite occurred as a result of a chemical accident
Brenner and Riddell Him asked to uncovered the electroless chromium process in 1946 and established this method of controlled autocatalytic coating in a commercial level.
Pearlstein et al. in Electroless Cr coatings have shown satisfactory performance for
1963 a variety of applications, and their performance can be further enhanced by adding alloy elements in the Cr coating matrix. Electroless ternary alloys namely, Cr have been first reported by Pearlstein PROCESS FLOW OBJECTIVE
