dealing and taking care of their plans. In terms of temperature, we do not look upon the warmth of the surrounding. Oftentimes, we expose our houseplants to scorching heat from the sun. We do not end to care about the air that strokes our plants. • Transpiration is essential in the life of land plants • It helps in the absorption of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere during photosynthesis • Transpiration provides a significant cooling effect which keeps the plant from being over heated • It helps in the development of mechanical tissues Unconstructivitely, a large amount of absorbed water is lost during transpiration which is harmful to plants.
So, factors that affect transpiration should
be regulated. Methodology Materials used: 18 pots of parsley 6 boxes (of approximately the same sizes) Thermometer 2 light bulbs (30 watts) *Note: We were assisted by an adult in connecting the wirings and plug Black cloth 2 electric fans (big, small) Cling wrap Masking tape Tape Scope and Limitation of the Study
Scope
The study covers three external factors
which are the light intensity, temperature, and air currents. Limitation
The study would not cover other external
and environmental factors such as humidity, atmospheric pressure, and carbon dioxide concentration. Treatment Light Intensity: bulbs Air currents: fans Temperature: heat Treatment Level Light Intensity: 3 watts vs 30 watts Air Currents: Low vs High Temperature: Exposed to sun with black cloth vs shaded Before the After the Plant No. Exposure Exposure Angle Height Angle Height 1 80 15 cm 95 15 cm 2 65 16 cm 90 16 cm 3 105 12 cm 79 12 cm 4 70 12 cm 72 11 cm 5 100 14 cm 100 10 cm 6 90 13 cm 65 13 cm 7 85 14 cm 10 8 cm Results and Discussion
The fallouts of the descriptive statistics and paired
sample t-test imply that there is a significant difference between the height and angle of each parsleys before and after the exposure. The results show that: Parsleys under extreme light, extreme air, and extreme temperature transpired less amount of water Plants influenced with sinsubstantial light, air and temperature transpired less amount of water Members: Charmaine Garcia Danica Therese Calibjo Reinna Franz Zoe Artanio
