Apa itu penyakit Difteri??

Difteria adalah suatu penyakit bakteri
akut terutama menyerang tonsil,
faring, laring, hidung, adakalanya
menyerang selaput lendir atau kulit
serta kadang-kadang konjungtiva atau
vagina.
Penyebab penyakit Difteri adalah
Corynebacterium diphtheria .Berbentuk
batang gram positif, tidak berspora,
bercampak atau kapsul.

Penyakit Difteri yang diserang terutama saluran pernafasan bagian atas.

Menurut tingkat keparahannya, penyakit ini dibagi menjadi 3 tingkat yaitu: Infeksi ringan, infeksi sedang, dan infeksi berat.

Menurut lokasi gejala yang dirasakan pasien: Difteri hidung (nasal diphtheria), Difteri faring (pharingeal diphtheriae), Difteri
laring (laryngo trachealdiphtheriae), Difteri kutaneus (Cutaneous diphtheriae).

Masa Inkubasi Difteri adalah 2-5
hari (jangkauan 1-10 hari)
Sehingga akan lebih mudah untuk
mengklasifikasikan difteri menjadi
beberapa manifestasi, tergantung
pada tempat penyakit.
Pharyngeal dan Difteri tonsillar
Tempat yang paling umum adalah infeksi faring dan tonsil. Awal gejala termasuk malaise,
sakit tenggorokan, anoreksia, dan demam yang tidak terlalu tinggi. Pasien bisa sembuh
jika toksin diserap. Komplikasi jika pucat, denyut nadi cepat, pingsan, koma, dan mungkin
mati dalam jangka waktu 6 sampai 10 hari. Pasien dengan penyakit yang parah dapat
ditandai terjadinya edema pada daerah submandibular dan leher anterior bersama dengan
limfadenopati.

Difteri kulit
Difteri kulit cukup umum di daerah tropis. Infeksi kulit
dapat terlihat oleh ruam atau ulkus dengan batas tepi dan
membran yang jelas. Situs lain keterlibatan termasuk
selaput lendir dari konjungtiva dan daerah vulvo-vagina,
serta kanal auditori eksternal.

DIFTERI LARING
Difteri laring dapat berupa perpanjangan bentuk faring.
Gejala termasuk demam, suara serak, dan batuk
menggonggong. membran dapat menyebabkan obstruksi
jalan napas, koma, dan kematian.
