OBJECTIVES

 1. Be acquainted with the various instructional

materials.
 2. Show some samples of effective instructional
materials.
 3.Produce/ construct instructional materials that are
competency-based, appropriate, creative, attractive,
and effective in all subjects.
 4. Explain/ describe the effective use of each
instructional material.
 5. Design and evaluate effective instructional

 Teaching is a total package; it is true that
teacher is the best instructional material
because teacher is the one who manages
the classroom. As the saying goes “you are
the captain of your mind and the master of
your soul.” The teacher is the captain of the
classroom because of molding the minds
of the students to become competent and
independent individuals when it comes to
excellence.
Activity:

Each GRADE/SCHOOL shall

define what Instructional
Material is. Then a
representative shall
present their output.
Instructional materials are
primarily a medium for delivery of
content; the teacher reiterates and
builds on the content.
Instructional materials are the
tools used in educational lessons,
which includes active learning and
assessment. Basically, any resource
a teacher uses to help him teach his
students is an instructional material.
 Instructional materials are
educational resources used to improve
students’ knowledge, abilities, and
skills, to monitor their assimilation of
information, and to contribute to their
overall development and upbringing.
Factors to be considered in constructing an
effective instructional material.

 1. Diverse User Interests

 2. Ability Levels
 3. Backgrounds
 4.Cultures
 5. Languages
 6. Maturity Levels
 7. Appropriate ( for the subject area, age and social
development special needs)
 8 . Learning Styles of Students
Purposes of Instructional materials:
The following are the guidelines in
evaluating the instructional materials:
 1. Usability- refers to how far could the material be
integrated into particular subjects.
 2. Generalizability-refers to how much of the material
could be used by the individual or by a group.
 3. Adaptability-Can parts be added/extracted/used in
another context or modified for other purposes?
 4.Flexibility- Can the materials be used in different
ways? Can they be entered indifferent parts?
 Each grade level shall make their own IM’s by
subject areas. Assignments of IM making are as
follows:
 GRADE VI- ESP and EPP
 GRADE V– MAPEH/MSEP
 GRADE IV- Filipino
 GRADE III- English
 GRADE II- Mathematics
 GRADE I- MTB
 ------------ Science
