• In 2016 Cybercrime was ranked the 2nd


most reported crime.
• By 2021, cybercrimes are predicted to
have a total damage cost of $6 trillion
dollars yearly.
• Computer and network hackers attack
on average every 39 seconds
• The U.S has had more data breaches
than any other country
• 63% of network intrusions are due to
compromised passwords and
usernames

Why isn’t more being
done?
• Only a quarter of cybercrime victims report the
crime to local police.
• Due to the influx of cases, major cases are
usually prioritized over smaller cases.
• Local law enforcements are usually under
equipped and trained to handle these type of
crimes lacking the knowledge, software and
adequate tools to do so.
• In 2016 the Internet Crime Compliant Center
received over 200,000 complaints, totaling a
loss of more than $1.3 billion.
