Literature Review
A study was conducted on Medical students’ perception of
the learning environment at King Saud University Medical
College, Saudi Arabia in 2017 by Mona M Soliman Kamran
Sattar, Sami Alnassar et al.
The study concluded that The overall student’s perception
about the educational environment was satisfactory.
This study was important to evaluate the students’
perception of the learning environment among medical
graduates of the reformed curriculum and provided
guidance on areas of improvement in the curriculum.(31)

A study was conducted in 2017 Perception of
educational environment among undergraduate
students of health disciplines in an Iranian university
Arezou Farajpour, S. Mohammad Ali Raisolsadat,
Samaneh S. Moghadam, Zahra Mostafavian.
The study concluded that students tend to have a
positive attitude towards their educational environ-
ment.
The findings of this study are useful to identify areas in
need of improvement by employing more specialized
tools and planning for improvement.(33)

Aim and Objective
The aim and objective of this study was to assess the
perception of medical students towards learning
environment.
Significance
The results will help to know the perception of
students towards the learning environment. This may
help to include the student’s ideas to enhance and
improve the environment for learning to help to
improve their performance.
Rationale
Studies have shown that learning environment has a
significant role in determining student’s academic
achievement and learning. So, it is important to know
the student’s perception of their learning environment
and the various building components that influence
learning.
Material and Method
 Study Design
Descriptive Cross sectional study design was used.
 Setting
Different medical Institutes of Karachi were included in the study.
 Duration of Study
The duration of study was 6 months.
 Sample Size
200 undergraduate students were include in the study.
 Sampling Technique
Non-probability convenient sampling was used

Inclusion Criteria
All undergraduate medical students were included.
Both Male and female students.
Students who were willing to participate.
Exclusion Criteria
Students who were not willing to participate.
Post-graduate students.

Data Collection Method
Distribution of questionnaire
Informed consent was taken from the students.
Data Collection Instrument
 Valild questionnaire was used. (DREEM –
questionaire).
Data Analysis
Statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 21.0
was used.
Descriptive statistics; frequency and percentage was used.

The budget was 25000 Rupees.
Ethical Approval
ERC ( Ethical review commitee) of University has
given me the permission for data collection.
Students privacy was maintained.
Data was coded.

Discussion
A study was condcuted in 2018 on Physiotherapy and
pharmacy students’ perception of educational environment in
a medical university from Pakistan by Aamir Raoof Memon,
Bahadur Ali, Mubin Mustafa Kiyani et al.The study concluded
that Students were overall positive about their educational
environment. (28)
In our study the results shown that 2% students were having
much problem regarding their learning environment, 59%
students were having problems regarding their educational
environment, 100% students were satisfied with their study
environment while 39% students were completely satisfied
with their environment.
Conclusion
The study concluded that most of the students were
satisfied with their study environment.
Recommandation
It is recommanded that study should be done with
large sample size which each level of study examine
individually then it should be done in comparision
with different years of study. As more changes comes in
the behaviour of students as year s passes.
